My sister got married in 2012. That was a feast on itself. But when she asked me to design the invitation, I was honored with the request. So he asked, she said yes, and I crafted.
The wishes regarding the colors brought the idea of not just using the colors, but also the look of a jewel like amethyst. In the wedding the theme was "Two hearts melting together". And that was exactly what the invitation did as well. It consists of two transparent layers put on top of each other to form the cover of the invitation.
They both already had a few ideas about what the invitation should look like. The most important wishes were that the colors had to be silver and amethyst-like, and it had to have a clean and modern feel to it. Therefor I did some of my magic in Photoshop to translate a few of the ideas into digital holiness.
The day of the wedding was absolutely amazing. And seeing my design put to good use, not only on the invitation, but also on the church booklet and bubble blowers was just awesome.
